SINGER MT7 |
While every country has it’s own language(s), there’s only one language we can all understand, and that's the language of music.
We don’t even need words to understand what music is saying. When the music is being played, it seems every one understands what’s coming out of the speakers and they just start dancing to it.
In weddings way back before the coming of like of John Kadusey , Arop Nyok Emmanuel Kembe and the list is long, you could find celion Dion's being played in weddings of people that don't even understand what the music is talking about.
Music creates ambiance. It adds up to the experience of whatever you’re doing. Can you imagine a party without music, a sports event without music, or a movie without music? Probably not.
Music Unites
Music plays a very important role in bringing people together, music doesn't know Dinka, Nuer, Equatoria.
Music can reduce the rate of unemployment in the country ( its actually heals the wounded heart). When a good music hits your nerves, you feel no pain and this is what we want from our very own artists.
Now the question is, is our music selling..? If not, what are the challenges and who are they key people to extend our music cross borders..?
Of course, there are so many contradictory answers.
Music is the combination of Artists, Fans and promoters.
Without fans no music and without music there is fans and there come in the promoters.
However, in this case I don't want to put too much blame on one side, our industry is full of talented musicians compared to others regional industries but the foreign music sell too much here that will never be easy to overcome.
That's why you see Diamonds, Chameleone, Fik fill the stadiums in our country and go with what should have been ours.
Our fans want us to give them good music and good videos yet we are hungry. You want us to travel to USA, SA to shoot those expensive videos yet we can't afford fare to tour our States.
I might be talented than Chris Brown,Wiz kid ,Davido, but I can't fill the stadiums simply because you don't believe in me (us).
We are your pride, we are the sons and the daughters of the soil, give us that money I will spend them here, I will build schools and hospital here, that private jet will be own by your own son or daughter.
You just gotta believe in us.
Invest in us we are better than those you trust and believe in them.
This country’s money belongs to us.
