Few days ago, a photo of Jose Chameleone surfaced online with General Salim Saleh something certain category of Ugandans took as a begging plot by the Leone Island Boss. But why would Ugandans descend that low to the extend of thinking whoever goes near General Saleh or any top government official has gone to beg? Jose Chameleone is a big musical brand in Uganda and he deserve some respect on his name, He has grown from a little boy with a dream to living his dreams down from the city suburbs of Kawempe to the World, He has beaten all odds to be the brand he is today.
Where in the World is it a crime to hold private discussions with a top government official or a top army officer of Saleh’s caliber? Jose Chameleone has full right to discuss whatever he feels is important with any one he feels can be of a help under any capacity, where has the freedom Ugandans boost of gone? Or have different political choices eroded every little aspect of respect in Ugandans? If we can remember Jose Chameleone was a contestant in the January 14 polls in the candidature of Lord Mayor, Kampala as an independent candidate against the incumbent Erias Lukwago after he got denied the National Unity Platform a party he embraced after quitting Democratic Party of Norbert Mao since then his enemies who claim to be bigger than him in Uganda's political arena keeps following him allover wanting him to be like them yet they denied receiving him as their own during the Election which partly contributed to his loss.
It’s known that Jose Chameleone just like other Ugandan artist has not been performing for quiet sometimes but his musical talent has offered him so much to sustain himself and his family from personal business to YouTube royalty and payments from other digital platforms as the main source of earnings for performing artists outside the stage so the covid-19 pandemic might have hindered his on-stage earnings from within Uganda but can never make him beg from anyone for sustainability.
