He was a silent hero within the entertainment fraternity and the majority population. When this tragic death of our fallen brother Alex Murye aka Mantani occurred after a terrible accident we have come to see how heroic he was to the majority member of the entertainment fraternity industry in the Republic of South Sudan and even the common people. If you see the heroic welcome of the fallen superstar’s body right from Nimule up to Juba and the proceeding events of viewing the body at Midan Rainbow in Juba, South Sudan then you will know how Mantani was to his fans, friends, family and the general public.
It has unearthed the unity bond among the members of the entertainment industry. Love shown during difficult time counts more than anything else as we go through this trying moment in our lives every member of the entertainment industry from artists, presenters, MC’s, media houses, blogs, fans, promoters and every music stakeholder at least showed solidarity to stand with the family of the decease through fund raising, sending in condolence messages, standing to pray for the family and offering the grieving population some courage to stand strong which to me really portrays how united we have always been and that is the kind of unity we need in the entertainment industry for us to grow bigger and beyond our immediate borders to a global stage.
Sadly, but true this painful moment also shows to us that we still support and celebrate someone when they are no more. Taking a close look at the flocking motorcade from Nimule to Juba and the population at the home of the Late in Gudele, Juba (South Sudan) I would like to say we still possess the painful character of supporting and celebrating our heroes more when they are gone. I looked at the traffic jam on the street and asked myself what if that population flocked his shows and concerts from the start? By today it would be the World celebrating him not just our people, I cried my hearts out knowing our late star had all this people in support of him and they loved him.
South Sudan’s music industry has been dragged back some good steps. From the time of Independence, we have struggled a lot to see that our industry grows with the Late Mantani among the greatest contributors of this industry’s growth under his Label the Hard Life Avenue Stars alongside Nicki Prince and Linus De Genius they produced amazingly excellent songs that play within the country and globally and that was a huge progress for our industry. The late was an amazing content creator in the capacity of song writer, record producer and singer who was so selfless in supporting both upcoming artists and established artists with anything in line with music his death just like that of Trisha Cee has dragged South Sudan’s music industry some steps back.
There’s hidden power in Music. Whoever has been a witness to the love shown all over social platforms and physically from Nimule to Juba will surely concur with me that there’s power in good music. In the post independent South Sudan, I have never witnessed people turning out in such a huge number in the burial of someone who is not even a government official or top business guru. Seeing this turn up in Late Mantani’s sendoff is so priceless and I have come to realize that there’s a lot hidden power in music more than I knew and that the industry is a big deal. From this day until the end of time I would like those who never recognize music or entertainment as a huge venture to change their mindset a little and in fact give music the attention it deserves including investing in music.
I continue to send my condolence to the family, fans and friends of the Late. Rest In Peace Mantani!
For sure
