Uganda’s famous Television presenter and once an artist signed to Gagamel International of Bebe Cool Tuff B aka “The Lone Walker” has come out to comment on the recent story making headlines of Uganda’s legendary singer Jose Chameleone and Co traveling to Gulu in Northern Uganda to beg for money from General Salim Saleh the younger brother of Uganda’s president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
During his show the Urban television presenter claimed it was absurd that the Leone Island Boss Chameleone who used to earn over 300 million from concerts has been reduced to a beggar today. Tuff B however connected Jose Chameleone’s situation to curses and tears of those he wronged haunting him down. Quoting him the Lone Walker said “It’s the curses of the people he wronged that have kept him in the state he is in” and he asserts that Jose Chameleone should go and apologies to those he wronged so that his ways shall be cleared because even with over a billion given to him by General Salim Saleh he would still blow that money in weeks.
However, this is not the first time Jose Chameleone and many other Ugandan artists are being pinned on the negative side of the story by some section of the people who feel these celebrated stars do not hold any moral rights to take money from the government which to some is illegitimate. In the 2016 general election campaign period Jose Chameleone alongside Bebe Cool championed the campaign of the incumbent president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni with a song titled “Tubonga n
awe” which did not go well with the opposition in Uganda with some calling for boycott of their music and concerts something which never happened directly maybe indirectly so should we say these artists shall be boycotted this time around?
